The detailed description
In Alba Iulia, we have the main objective the Alba Carolina citadel, a fortification built in the Vauban style. In the seven-pointed star, we will find historical buildings such as The Catholic Church, the Orthodox Church and the Coronation Cathedral (Catedrala Reîntregirii Neamului). We can also visit the Batthyaneum library, where we will find manuscripts and books attesting the most important historical moments of Romania. Other important points are The Unification Hall and The National Museum.
After a short introduction in the Romanian history, we travel further to Câlnic, where we will transpose ourselves further into the medieval period. The castle has been renovated and is today an international cultural center. Then, we will go further to Sibiel to experience a traditional Romanian village from Transylvania.
In Sibiel we will visit The Museum of painting icons on glass, a traditional art from the Sibiel area. A carriage ride is also in our program. Optional: The carriage ride will lead us to a peasant family where we are going to have a traditional dinner.
