Today, we put ourselves in the medieval atmosphere and visit the impressive Alba Carolina Citadel in Alba Iulia and the Corvin castle, also called Hunyadi Castle in Hunedoara.
The Alba Carolina citadel was found in the beginning of the 18th century and served as a strategic point of defense of the fortification of the Habsburg Empire before the military efforts of the Ottoman Empire. After the short introduction in the history of Romania, we continue our trip and visit one of the seven wonders from Romania, the Corvin castle. The Corvin castle was built in the Renaissance style and is one of the largest castles in Europe. The castle was mentioned in a list of “best palaces in Europe”.
