Albota is a trout farm with an inn at the foot of the Făgăraș mountains, between Cârța and the start of the Transfăgărășan road. The fish comes from the farm’s own ponds; with it polenta, garlic sauce and salad.
We stop here for lunch on the day trip to Bâlea Lake. Those who prefer not to drive up the pass can stay by the stream.
