ASTRA Museum, Rasinari, Cisnadioara
Those interested in crafts or candle making, but also curious about wine should definitely visit the open air museum Astra, which is also known as “the young forest”. Rasinari and Cisnadioara are the other main objectives of this day.
Highlights of the day:
Romanian traditions from Rasinari
The fortress from Cisnădioara
The detailed description
The Astra museum is the second largest open air museum in Europe and covers an area of 90ha. You will see here traditional Romanian structures from different regions of Romania, organised as a “village” inside the museum.
After we experience a part of the Romanian traditions in the Astra museum, we will go further to Rasinari. Rasinari has its own charm and is one of the most beautiful villages of Romania. After a coffee break we are going to take an easy walk to Cisnadioara (about 1h30min).
Cisnadioara is not far from Rasinari. We will end our day here with a visit to the fortified church in Cisnadioara. From there we have a wonderful view over the village and the mountains.
